Description

Systematic modifications in surface chemistry and/or topography in packaging are often made to improve various properties of the package, e.g. printability, inter-laminate adhesion and barrier properties, etc. Such modifications can also be made on the outside of the package to deliver a desirable perceptual response to the consumer’s hand, which may affect the willingness to purchase the product. In this talk, we will present possible ways to modify surfaces as well as how to study the effect of surface properties on tactile perception.
