Three quick questions for Per Oredsson at Nefab

The global packaging supplier Nefab will be one of the exhibitors at Scanpack this year. Nefab provides complete packaging solutions designed to minimise costs and environmental impact. We interviewed CEO Per Oredsson to hear his thoughts ahead of Scanpack.

Hello Per! What is innovative about your packaging solutions, and how can they contribute to increased sustainability?

“We offer a unique complete solution involving packaging, service and logistics. We are completely material-neutral and have a strong sustainability profile. We also offer a wide range of services such as connection, third-party logistics and optimisation. With our GreenCALC tool, we analyse and optimise flows of goods with regard to CO2 emissions and costs. On average, a GreenCALC assessment of a flow reduces CO2 emissions by 30% and costs by 20%.”

What are you looking forward to at Scanpack?

“I look forward to seeing innovative developments in sustainable and resource-efficient packaging solutions. And naturally it will be great to meet up with customers and colleagues.”

Can you tell us about any exciting trends or future developments in packaging design and materials that visitors to Scanpack should look out for?

“Of course!

New materials: The demand for sustainable solutions is strong and will continue to be so. We are currently working on a number of interesting development projects involving the development of new fibre-based and recycled materials.

New servicesOptimising a supply chain with regard to logistics and packaging is a complex challenge. Nefab is growing strongly when it comes to ancillary services designed to create an optimal supply chain. In addition to design and optimisation, we also offer “connected services” for logistics, pooling and inventory management. As an integral part of the supply chain, we have unique possibilities to create efficient and resource-efficient flows for our customers.

New productsThe transition to green energy and electrification is creating new supply chains with new requirements. Things are moving quickly, and the new developments are also revolutionary for packaging and the logistics chain. We are focusing a lot of resources on the development of solutions in this area together with our customers, for example with regard to electric vehicles, batteries and dangerous goods.”
